Roses - What Colour and How Many to Give   by Flower Girl

Roses have been used for centuries to express emotions - you just need to make sure that you choose the right colour and amount for the occasion.

Red roses are the most common colour to send.

A single red rose Says 'I Love You'
Bunch of long-stemmed roses signifies long-lasting love
A dozen red roses signifies 'the perfect dozen'. In many cultures and religions, the number 12 is associated with a complete cycle; twelve months of the year, twelve hours on the clock, twelve signs of the zodiac, etc. This recurrence of the number twelve across the natural and spiritual world has given it a sacred and mystical quality which is universal - hence why a dozen red roses is given as a symbol of true love.

Two dozen red roses symbolises your love for someone, and that you're thinking of them every hour of every day. Traditionally the romantic message of twenty four roses is that of complete devotion, or 'I am yours'.

Single white roses are given by someone that wants to say 'I'm sorry',

A single peach rose is used to send a message of friendship

A purple rose expresses beauty.

A pink rose is an elegant way of thanking someone

A single black rose says 'it is over' (the end of a relationship for example).

Single yellow roses express happiness and love - sending one to your other half means that you are happy with your love and relationship.

Whichever colour or amount of roses you choose to send, and whatever the occasion, they will always be

appreciated. All varieties and types of roses are beautiful, whether sent as a single flower or a large bouquet.
